Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus Presents
"Festivus (For the Rest of Us)"
An Alternative Holiday Concert December 12 & 14

MADISON, Nov. 18, 2014 -- Marking its 18th annual winter concert, Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus is set to display a unique twist on the tradition of holiday choral music. The concert is based on the parodic secular holiday Festivus, a respite from the commercialism and societal pressures that can often accompany the winter holiday season. As made popular in an episode of the sitcom Seinfeld, Festivus has its own traditions as the vocal "Airing of Grievances," displays of "Feats of Strength," its own "Festivus Miracles," and especially the unadorned, aluminum Festivus pole. Perfect Harmony will celebrate with musical selections that explore the holiday's more serious themes, such as forgiveness and self-acceptance, while also maintaining a balance with more light-hearted material, reflecting the comedic origins of Festivus. In abandoning many of the standard holiday music conventions, Perfect Harmony presents a wide-ranging, sometimes moving, always entertaining set of songs. It is sure to be unlike any other holiday concert you will attend this season.

"Festivus (For the Rest of Us)" will be performed at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, December 12, 7:30 pm, as well as on Sunday, December 14, 3:00 pm. Admission to the concerts is $20 per ticket, which can be reserved online at, or purchased at the door.

Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus is Madison's gay and gay-friend men's chorus, using music and performance to enrich the lives of its audience and supporters. They serve within the LGBT communities of the area, as well as the Madison Area community at large; in their own words, "we sing to make a better world."
